Coney Island is home to the Luna Park amusement park, the Cyclone wooden roller coaster, Nathan’s hot dogs and the Mermaid parade. It is also home to one of the busiest beaches in New York City. With this piece, I tried to capture a scene rarely associated with this beach: that of a calm and quiet seascape. Captured at sunset, the golden light of the sun seems to play off the waves contrasting nicely with the blue and the green hues of the seawater. This piece represents an end to a busy day at the beach and a return to a tranquil state. . .
