The basis for this work has been a pastel drawing after a live model. The design was then divided into two parts, thus one positive nude figure, and the other one the negative corresponding to the background. They were both stitched on two different canvases. This artwork presents a collage of the former realistic drawing and of the imagined surrealist figure resulted inside its shape. The other painting, which shows the positive figure, is 21 Gaugains, currently in a private collection. In an effort to imagine the personality of a nude model, a person you often paint without really knowing anything about them, the two paintings have reached an almost antithetical finality.
